2008 Best Online GamesWorld's largest MMORPG World of Warcraft, or WoW by its 10M fans, was named best role playing game at the first ever Global Online Game organized by Korea Game Industry Agency and held last week at the Seoul Trade & Exhibition Center in the South Korean capital Seoul.WoW was honored to inaugurate the first official online game award, conducted by a committee of judges of different parts of the worlds, awarding six different game categories: best role playing game, best adventure/action game, sports game, strategy/simulation game, first person shooter game, and racing/casual game for the terminated year. Each category included five rivals (which their names were not announced), chosen by the judges according to set criteria: the game scenario/planning, graphics/character, music/sound, technology, and overall creativity. To avoid allegations of cultural diversity, the judges committee was assembled by critics and chief-editors of leading online games publications in the US, China, South Korea and Germany.
