Backgammon and 99 More Games on Nintendo DSBackgammon is one of the 100 All Time Favorites, a new collection of classic games for multi and single player use developed by the Indian branch of Ubisoft for Nintendo DS. Other games include cards classics such as poker and solitaire, board games like chess and checkers and variety of puzzles. The collection of games also features 20 inventions, borrowing rules and elements taken form different games and combined into original ones, video tutorials and games needed to be unlocked for credits and rewards.
The 100 All Time Favorites was released in the US already two months ago, just in time for the holiday shopping season. It is now being celebrated as the first ever made in India Nintendo game, although its release in its homeland is delayed. About 40 Ubisoft employees, including game designers, artists, and programmers have been working on the collection of games for over a year, dedicating six months to research, in which the games rules were studied, the games were solved and the most interesting version of each game was chosen.
After the mission of developing backgammon and additional 99 games was accomplished, the team of Ubisoft Pune is planning to continue conquering the international online gaming industry. Their next planned destinations will be the mobile gaming industry together with social gaming. They have also expressed interest in MMOs, but at any case, they are have no intentions of limiting themselves to the local market.
