Backgammon Cheating in Atlantic City CasinoFour men have been charged with second-degree attempted theft by deception after caught cheating patrons of Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City. According to the New Jersey Authorities, the foursome have been involved in a sophisticated scam using computers and surveillance equipment to cheat their opponents in high stakes games of backgammon, chess and Chinese poker. The four - James Harrison of Duluth, Minnesota, Joseph Ingargiola, Stephen Phillips and Steven Forte of Las Vegas – have allegedly took over two rooms at the Bogarta Hotel Casino; one room served as the game room, where the four exhibited their backgammon, chess and Chinese poker skills in front of the casino hotel high stake gamblers, while the second room used to store the high tech surveillance equipment and computers, which assisted the quartet in their cheats. The four, who are currently free on bail, might be spending up to ten years in prison for a charge of a second-degree attempted theft charge. One of them, Steven Forte, is a well known gambling cheats expert who authored the book Poker Protection - Cheating and World of Poker.
