Famous Sydney Backgammon Club Closed TemporallyBaron's, the famous drinking and backgammon playing spot in King Cross, Sydney, has recently closed its doors temporarly. New and renovated Baron's is planned to re-open its doors around 2009.
Baron's was famous in Sydney for its special backgammon tables, which hosted enthusiast backgammon players until the wee hours of the night. Michael Cherote, Baron's license promises to order special backgammon tables for the new venue as well.
The rebuilding of the new Baron's is expected to begin next month. The bar-backgammon club will be located in a 4-storey building at Roslyn Street. Mr. Cherote plans to apply for a theatre license, which will enable the spot to operate until 6 AM.
