Greek Backgammon Federation 6th Tournament ReportThe Greek Backgammon Federation held its 6th event in the series of monthly backgammon tournaments. Manos Mastorakis, who regularly directs the tournament, won the tournament after defeating George Vadiakas, a former Monte Carlo World Backgammon Championship finalist. The 6th Greek Backgammon Federation tournament saw the first win of Manos Mastorakis, who had participated in all the previous events as a player and a tournament director. "In the five previous monthly events, I was usually knocked out in the first round, but luck was on my side at this one. Some players get disappointed because of a loss or two but if you stop playing you’ll never see the chance to win. I didn't give up and I have finally been rewarded." He declared. Mastorakis also had the pleasure of winning one of the leading Greek backgammon players, George Vadiakas, who in 2000 and 2001 made it to the second spot at the prestigious World Championship in Monte Carlo. "I am really happy I had a chance to play against one of the top Greek players", Mastorakis expressed his enthusiasm. Following his 6th Greek backgammon tournament victory, Manos Mastorakis had climbed to the 7th spot at the Hellenic National Ranking List. ![]() Manos Mastorakis 6th Greek Backgammon Federtaion tournament winner
