Online backgammon room Play65 has announced sponsoring the new international event – the Meribel Backgammon Tournament, scheduled to the weekend of the 10th and 13th of December at the Meribel ski resort in the French Alps. The Meribel tournament has two flights, Masters and Mid-Flight, an extra event – "The Highest Little Tournament in the World", free "Warm-up" tournament and more.
Thanks to the sponsorship of Play65, the backgammon software Snowie, and other companies, mainly from the local tourist industry, the tournament does not have any registration fees, and all the entry fees plus €5000 added money will be distributed between the winners. Play65 has also added an extra bonus for its players who will take part in the event.
Play65 is also running a special Christmas tournament on the 25th of December with an especially festive €10,000 prize pool that will be divided between 128 players. The winners will get a generous €1,700 Christmas gift. The online backgammon website is not discriminating its Jewish players, and a unique promotion will take place between 12th and 18th of December during the Hanukah holiday, where all rakes will be lowered to a maximum of 3% or €15 every night from midnight to 6 AM (GMT).
